Update

There are a few signs of spring around here, such as, trees blossoming, flowers blooming, fields sprouting up wheat and corn, but the weather is another story. I don't believe we had hit 80 degrees yet, and the wind has been nasty this year. I have yet to put on a pair of short pants, or worn sandals. I'm still wearing long sleeves and a jacket. We haven't had to water our yard with the sprinklers due to the frequent rain. I love it here, but I really could use some summer time weather.

My mom and John came out to visit last weekend. Mom is holding my little rooster, who I named, Hercules. I just love this little guy. He'd be happy to be held like this all day long.

Billy and John put a door going from the garage to the backyard. I hated having to always walk through the house to get out back. This is so much more convenient, and saves wear and tear on my carpet.

Sunday after church Billy and I took a drive. There is still so much more for us to explore. We ventured over to Oregon which is about 30 miles from my house. I love driving through the farms and seeing all the animals.

I am always a little perplexed when I see a grove of trees planted like this. I see it quite often up here, but don't know what it is. They are not fruit bearing trees - they look more like cotton woods, so I have no clue what the deal is with them.

I tried to sneak up on this pheasant, but he flew away.

Monday Billy dug a hole in the front yard for our flag pole. He has always wanted a flag pole, so he was excited. We had to wait a couple days for the cement to dry, now we have to wait for the hurricane force wind to stop - then we can fly the flag.

We planted our garden. I'm not sure how well it'll turn out since it's our first time, but we'll learn. We will be building one more planter. Also our pasture grass is beginning to grow. I'm especially excited for the grass. The fence will be next. I can't wait. I feel like I live in a fish bowl.

And last but not least - the beast!
I couldn't believe I found her on the window sill.
I think she was chasing a fly.
That's my update.
 Kind of boring.
